I chose to shoot boudoir photography because it gives women a chance to experience something empowering and uplifting while also giving me the opportunity to photograph the most beautiful creation on earth.

Our Sessions usually start with hair and make up. We have partnered with a couple awesome ladies who prepare our clients for the shoot. We then proceed to choosing outfits that our clients bring or from our client closet. We choose which of our sets/looks the client would like to use. I usually do a demonstration of some of the poses we will go through to break the ice and add some comedic relief. And then the magic happens!

I believe boudoir photography is some what of a stigma within the Black community because Black women are sexualized at a very young age. And that early sexualization causes us to look at body positivity, sensuality, sexuality, nudity and so on as completely taboo, even when our young Black women become adults. Our overprotection as a defense mechanism to early sexualization trickles into adulthood and hinders Black women’s ability and freedom to be expressive. Encouraging Black women to give it a try and exposing them to that very freedom of expression and liberation is why I do what I do.

My favorite part of shooting boudoir is the final reveal. Seeing the look on my clients’ faces when they see their photographs for the first time is, hands down, the most fulfilling part of what I do.

    I have had the privilege of shooting with Freddie. He is brilliant. I was very relaxed and comfortable, I had lots of direction and support. The final images were outstanding, I felt like a goddess in those photos.
